DESCRIPTION
This brooch design was inspired by the ancient Viking myth of ‘Ingibiorg’. It was crafted in Orkney by renowned jeweller Ola Marie Gorie. The shapes are pierced tree-like branches on a textured background. It is marked 925 Sterling Silver with the ‘OMG’ stamp.
'Ingibiorg'
‘Ingibiorg is the fairest of maidens’, carved one lovesick Viking, sheltering inside Orkney’s great Maeshowe, on his way to the crusades. Her beauty is captured forever in his elegant runes. Visitors gaze in wonder at the words of a poet, the work of an artist.
